THE HITA Awards could put your business in the spotlight!
The Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards (HITA) 2019 are now open for entry and we are calling on all NC500 members to apply now.
The HITA awards are now in their 15th year of celebrating those who make every visitors’ experience in Highlands special. The awards give well-deserved acknowledgement, ongoing support and valuable assistance to businesses of all sizes across the region.
There are a whole host of categories, so you can pick the one which suits you best. The 15 categories include Best Self-Catering Accommodation Experience, Most Hospitable B&B/ Guest House, Best Hotel Experience, Best Cultural Event or Festival, Best Restaurant Experience, Best Informal Eating Experience, Best Outdoor/ Adventure Experience, Best Visitor Attraction, Best Bar/ Pub, Innovation in Tourism, Working Together For Tourism, Best Heritage Tourism Experience, Highland Ambassador, Tourism & Hospitality Hero and Highland Rising Star.
Laurence Young, HITA Chair, said “to win a HITA Award is such a prestigious accolade to achieve and the application doesn’t have to be tough and time consuming”.
This year, the HITA Board have launched a Mentors Group – a team of past winners and judges who can offer practical advice and guidance to potential applicants. They will listen to ideas and help businesses recognise the true value of the application, the things that ought to be included and things that can be missed out.
Applications for Highland Ambassador, Highland Rising Star and Tourism & Hospitality Hero close on June 3rd, 2019, and all other categories on June 24th.
The HITA team also work closely with the Thistle Awards, which means every winner (except Highland Rising Star and the Highland Ambassador) will automatically be entered as a finalist in the Scottish Thistle Awards next year!
