From the breathtaking and ancient mountains of Torridon, the wild coasts of Assynt, and the vast moorland of Sutherland, this is an incredible trip of a lifetime which should be on every serious cyclist’s bucket list. At Wilderness Scotland we offer two cycling trips in partnership with the North Coast 500, the ‘Challenge’ and the ‘Classic’ route.
North Coast 500 – Road Bike – Challenge – 7 Days
On this trip we cover 500 miles in 5 saddle days. It’s our toughest adventure by far. We can’t promise this ride will be easy but we can guarantee it will be epic. North Coast 500 – Road Bike – Classic – 11 Days
On the Classic trip we tackle the 500mi/800km route over 10 saddle days. With expert guiding and full trip support, you’re free to focus on the riding. Journey through some of the most spectacular roads and scenery in Europe.
Sustainability
Sustainability has always been one of our core organisational values. The principles of “leave no trace” and supporting the local communities we work in are the cornerstones of our commitment to sustainable travel.
Our business activities and trip operations are purposefully designed to minimise environmental impact and operate on a low carbon basis. We are absolutely committed to engaging local businesses throughout our entire operation and ensuring that the economic benefits are distributed fairly. In addition to our Conservation Contribution Scheme, we provide financial and volunteer support to a range of great projects in Scotland and, occasionally, further afield.
Our commitment has been recognised in many awards over the years. Twice we’ve won the Best Green Tour Operator in the World Travel Awards. Since 2006 we have held a Gold Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme – recognised as the world’s most credible Sustainable Tourism Programme.
