Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions form the basis of the contract through which the North Coast 500 Ltd. (“NC500, we or us”) will deliver a service to you as a NC500 Club Member.  By becoming a member of the North Coast 500 Members’ Club you agree to these terms and conditions and you consent to us handling your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

North Coast 500 Limited is a registered company in Scotland with company no. SC504749 and with its registered office at The Green House, Beechwood Park North, Inverness, IV2 3BL.

1.0 Membership Contract

When you submit your application online, or you email us your application, you are making an offer to subscribe to the North Coast 500 Members’ Club which, if accepted by us, will result in a legally binding contract in accordance with these terms and conditions.

At the point of renewal of your membership, your renewal payment is confirmation of the continued acceptance of these terms and conditions. You may not transfer any of your rights and obligations under these terms and conditions to another person.

For online applications, you will receive an email from us to confirm whether your application has been accepted. Please note that an acknowledgement that your application has been received or is being processed does not yet mean that the contract between us is formed. For both Traveller and Explorer Memberships a legally binding contract is formed upon receipt of your welcome email.

All Traveller Membership documents are available digitally to download once receipt of payment has been confirmed. For Explorer Memberships digital documents will also be available on confirmation of payment and all other additional membership benefits will be sent out within 5 working days of payment via 2nd Class, Royal Mail. Working days are Monday-Friday.

1.1 Benefits

As a member of the North Coast 500 Members Club, you will receive the following documents digitally:

  • The Rough Guide to the North Coast 500 e-book
  • NC500 Route Discount Scheme with exclusive discounts and offers
  • 10% discount on all NC500 merchandise on our online shop
  • Access to all online itineraries
  • Official NC500 Map (PDF)

Monthly newsletter with exclusive member only competitions

All members of the North Coast 500 Members Club can purchase an upgrade to the Explorer Pack (£30) and non-members can purchase the full package for £45. In addition to the digital downloads, the Explorer Membership also includes:

  • Official NC500 Map (hardcopy)
  • Free Gift (subject to change)

For up to date details of the NC500 Route Discount Scheme please log in to the Members’ area on the North Coast 500 website to view a PDF file containing a list of all discounts. Please note that these discounts change regularly and are subject to availability. Many of the discounts offered are seasonal so please ensure you check with the relevant business that the discount is applicable at the time of your booking.

Discounts are only available upon production of the Welcome Email or Gold Membership Club 500 ID Card and participating businesses reserve the right to refuse discount if a customer is unable to produce their card/email. Discount cards are for the personal use of the members only and are non-transferrable.

1.2 Payments

The North Coast 500 Traveller Membership is £15 and an Explorer Membership is £45. Traveller Members can upgrade to become an Explorer Member at any time during membership at a cost of £30.

Payment for all memberships are made online at time of application via PayPal on the North Coast 500 website.

All memberships are valid for one year from date of payment and all benefits will cease upon expiry. You can renew your membership within one year of initial expiry date. It is the members’ responsibility to renew their membership; the membership will not auto-renew.

1.2.1 Refunds

Traveller Membership subscriptions are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged. The digital element of an Explorer Membership is also non-refundable and cannot be exchanged however the additional Explorer Membership benefits can be refunded if requested within 10 working days of payment by emailing [email protected]. To be eligible for a refund for this part of your membership items received via post must be returned to us in a resalable condition. The cost of postage and packing applicable to the return of the items will be at your own expense.

1.3 Explorer Membership Pack

North Coast 500 Ltd. does not accept any responsibility for any loss, damaged and/or stolen membership packs once in the physical possession of the member. If your pack is not received within 10 working days from the date of payment please email [email protected] to inform us so that we can investigate this matter.

1.4 Our liability

Nothing in these terms and conditions limits or excludes our liability (1) for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (2) for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation  (3) for breach of the terms implied by the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (4) in relation to your rights as a consumer in a way which cannot be so lawfully limited or excluded or (5) for any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms and conditions or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or negligence, or if it was contemplated by you and us at the time we agree to these terms and conditions.

1.5  Your personal data and privacy

By agreeing to these terms and conditions you agree to our Privacy Policy which can be found on the North Coast 500 website.

We will only ever use your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and should you have any queries in relation to it please contact us at [email protected].

1.6  Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Scotland. We both agree that the courts of Scotland shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
