Stay next to a Lighthouse in a welcoming self-catering cottage on the NC500

Need a relaxing break and a refuge from city life? Or family adventures with the kids? Or somewhere unique for a big birthday?

The Lighthouse Keeper’s cottage is a light and cosy hideaway, set on a headland with sea on three sides – you can even see a ruined castle out of the kitchen window! Sustainability and inclusion were first on our minds when we furnished the Cottage, and we are proud of our Four Stars from Visit Scotland and our Gold Award for Green Tourism.

Stay in a former Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage at Noss Head, just outside Wick. Sleeping six people in three bedrooms, our well-equipped cottage provides a light and cosy welcome to families, groups or friends, or couples wanting a romantic break.

With a minimum stay of three nights, and longer stays available, we are the perfect base to explore the castles and cottages of the eastern leg of the NC500.

Green, inclusive and friendly

We provide a warm welcome to all: our accommodation is all on one floor and is suitable for people who can manage one or two steps; we chose quiet appliances and installed black-out blinds. We buy as green and local as we can manage, with eco cleaning products and local food in our welcome basket (with vegan / gluten-free and nut-free options of course).  Pets are welcome too.

The perfect base for exploring

Our guests love to find out more about lighthouse life and enjoy the views of the sea on three sides, before going out to blow the cobwebs away on our glorious beaches, discovering our castles, exploring Thurso and Wick, ticking John o’Groats and Dunnett off their bucket list, or taking a day trip to Orkney.
