Come and discover over 2,000 years of Pictish and local history.
Tarbat Discovery Centre is a local heritage museum, learning and activity centre situated on the Tarbat Peninsula, set within the attractive fishing village of Portmahomack. The site was excavated in the 1990s by the University of York and is of national significance as one of the earliest Christian sites in Britain, dating from the 6th century. The Centre displays many spectacular artefacts and examples of Pictish Art and has plenty of engaging activities for children, as well as a gift shop.
