About Sandwood Bay
- Open All Year Round
- Family Friendly
Situated on the far north-west coast, Sandwood Bay is thought to be the most remote beach in the United Kingdom. The isolated location means you need to hike just over 4 miles to reach the bay. Start from the car park in the village of Blairmore, north-west of the hamlet of Kinlochbervie on the single-track B801. The hike itself is easy enough and as you travel you’re rewarded with views of the north-west Highlands. The final stretch rises over a crest, beyond which the magnificent bay is laid out beneath you to explore. A feast for the eyes and an extra special place to visit.
