The Cabins

Oldshoremore Croft Cabins offers two fully equipped cabins 1 min walk from Oldshoremore beach, with stunning sea views, perfect for watching the sun set. Each cabin can accommodate two adults in a full double sized bed, en-suite facilities, a small kitchen; with full size gas cooker, which has 4 hobs, grill, oven. Fridge with freezer drawer. Living room area has 2 seat sofa, 2 seats and table. 32kw combi gas boiler which is controls water and central heating for year-round comfort. Each cabin has is a decked area with an outdoor picnic bench where you can enjoy the sea view over to handa island (puffin sanctuary) and Stornoway on a clear day.

The Area

Oldshoremore Croft Cabins are situated in quiet crofting hamlet of Oldshoremore, 2 miles past the village of Kinlochbervie which has grocery store’ Spar’, fuel pump, post office, a few cafes down by the fishing harbour. Towards Kinlochbervie there is the oppourtunity to view the mountains of Foinaven, Arkle and Ben Stack (might be lucky enough to watch the sun rise between Foinaven and Arkle).   The cabins are perfectly positioned for guests to enjoy walks on Oldshoremore beach (which is 2min from the cabins), coastal walk to Polin and Sheigra beachs. keep an eye out for Otters, Seals, Golden Eagles. Lots of rare flowers in the Machar area along the coast which is  SSSI (Special Site of Scientific Interest). For the more adventurous 4 mile walk to famous Sandwood Bay on the John Muir Trust Estate or continue onto Cape Wrath light house.

Heading south towards Laxford Bridge (11miles) you can see at the road side where during the road construction they have blasted the rock, exposing different layers of rock. This area lies within the North West UNESCO Geopark, 10 minutes further south there are daily trips to Handa Island to see the puffins, Handa is managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. 5 minutes past the village of Scourie there is the Scenic Kylesku bridge, famous sea food restaurant with nice walks and waterfalls to see. all within 30min drive

Heading north 20 miles to the village of Durness, with plenty to do and see from the Craft Village with Coco Mountain, Balnakeil Beach, Durness 9 hole golf course, Smoocave, lime stone fishing, boat across the kyle of Durness to either walk or take a mini bus 11 miles to the light house at Cape Wrath.
