Set in the village of Tongue, Lundies House is a former 19th-century church manse, now a boutique hotel on Scotland’s North Coast 500 route. With views across the Kyle of Tongue and a peaceful setting surrounded by the landscapes of Sutherland, it offers a relaxed base for exploring the north coast.
The Rooms
Inside, Scottish heritage meets Scandinavian design, with welcoming communal spaces including a lounge, study and dining room. Upstairs, spacious en-suite bedrooms feature soft colours, handcrafted details and views across the Kyle of Tongue. Beyond the herb garden, the converted steadings include studio rooms, a self-catered apartment and a courtyard, with a stream and the Nymph Pool nearby. Guests can also enjoy the Sauna Yurt and cold plunge.
Food
Food at Lundies draws on the flavours of the north coast, with local produce from sea and land combined with ingredients foraged from nearby shores and woodlands. Breakfast and a three-course dinner are included, while a hearty packed lunch is available for days spent exploring.
Exploring the Area
Borrow an e-bike to explore the coastal roads, take a refreshing swim in the Nymph Pool or join a morning yoga session at Lundies. Wild swimming, shoreline walks and time in the garden offer plenty of ways to enjoy the surrounding landscape, while massages can also be arranged.
Further afield, explore Ben Hope, walk to Castle Varrich or discover the sandy beaches around the coast. At Talmine, coasteering and board hire can also be arranged.
