About Dolphin Spirit
Dolphin Spirit offers boat trips out on the Moray Firth in search of a variety of wildlife and our very own domestic population of Bottlenose Dolphins. We have a choice of boat trips on offer and both offer opportunities for wildlife spotting. We are based at Inverness Marina right beside the Kessock bridge, just take the Stadium exit and follow the road round to the Marina entrance.
The Dolphin Spirit is a large comfortable 65-person passenger vessel with seating split into 3 areas for maximum comfort and visibility, suitable for all ages. We run 4 times a day at 10am, 12noon, 2pm and 4pm and each trip lasts 1 hour 15 minutes approx. hoping to see dolphins, seals, otters, porpoise and a variety of seabirds too. We operate passive animal interactions and let animals come to the boat rather than chasing them, as we are visitors in their environment and as such keep disturbances to a minimum. It does make interactions extra special when they do come to play.
The Dolphin Mischief is a fast, adrenaline fuelled trip out into the wider Moray Firth passing through the famous Chanonry narrows, a well-known dolphin hotspot! This trip lasts 2 hours and is more physical than the Cruiser, so more suited to adults and children over the age of 10. In addition to all the marine life listed above we’ve been lucky enough to see Basking sharks and Minke whales in recent years too.
We provide insulated water-proof suits for this trip and recommend customers bring hat and gloves as it can be chilly travelling at speed, even in the summer months.
All trips are weather dependent and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
