Burnside Cottage is a stylish eco friendly B&B + self catering studio flat awarded Gold Award from Green Tourism.
Located on the dramatic far North Coast of Scotland. Just 800m off the NC500, 10 minutes from John O’Groats and close to the Gills Bay Pentland Ferry (Orkney). Situated in peaceful open countryside, with views out over the Pentland Firth towards the Isle of Stroma, and the Orkney Islands beyond……totally away from the hustle & bustle of modern life.
We have an alcohol licence & offer an extensive optional evening menu in both b&b suites (very vegan friendly). Both our food and drinks menu showcase our amazing local suppliers and we believe in using higher welfare and organic produce where possible.
Developed from a traditional croft house, the property has been extended and modernised many times over the years. Under the current owners since 2018, who having lovingly transformed it into the contemporary tranquil space it now is. All accommodation is on the ground floor. We offer two b&b suites & a self-catering studio;
The Grey Suite, a spacious double en-suite with king-sized bed. This suite has a small attached room with bunk beds making it a perfect suite for families/four adults.
The Raven Room, a spacious twin en-suite
Both suites have comfortable seating and dining areas & we serve all meals via Room Service.
The Pig Shed is a self-catering studio flat for two. Attached to the main building but totally self-contained. A Room Service drinks menu is available here.
