Black Isle Yurts is a small eco-sensitive “glamping” site set on some of the East  Highland’s most dramatic coastal scenery 15 miles north east of Inverness, convenient for the Cromarty – Nigg car ferry, and for Dolphin viewing at Chanonry Point.

Each tastefully furnished, each of eight hand-crafted yurts comes fully equipped with a wood-burning stove, cooking equipment and gas stove. Each yurt has its own secluded pitch in native woodland. Yurts sleep between 2 and 5 people in comfy beds with duvets. Free Wifi is available at the Hub, which houses comfortable showers and toilets.

There are 150 acres of beach, woods and farmland to explore, giving you complete privacy and tranquillity.. Much of it is an eco-diverse site of special scientific interest. Wildlife abounds  – view dolphins, otters, badgers and birdlife including red kites, buzzards, owls and – if you are lucky – ospreys. Midges are rare in this part of the Black Isle, which allows you hassle free evenings in the open. The site is part of a small working farm, with lambs, highland cattle, pigs, hens – and a selection of sheepdogs. Black Isle Yurts is a dog friendly location but please keep dogs under firm control because of the farm animals nearby.

The Learnie mountain bike trails are next door, and the picturesque nearly villages of Cromarty, Rosemarkie and Fortrose are noted for their history, arts, crafts and eateries. Or just relax and take in the panoramic view across the Moray Firth to Fort George and beyond.

And new for 2023 – for the eco-minded, we now offer EV car charging conveniently located at the car park by the Hub.
