4 Star GOLD B&B, The Auld Post Office, licensed accommodation is set in 8 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens and private woodland.
Quietly situated in the countryside on the A9, with views across the heather moorland to the peaks of Sutherland. Just a short drive to both Thurso and Wick and perfect for a tour of the Northern Highlands.
Accommodation comprises, two double en-suite guest rooms each with French doors to the private patio and gardens beyond. Individually decorated in a blend of Art Deco and contemporary style. Wake up to a delicious hearty breakfast with eggs from the happy hens in the garden and locally sourced produce from our neighbours’ farms.
Quality restaurants are just five minutes by car to the village of Halkirk. The Auld Post Office offers a unique Gin Tasting Evening, with more than 100 Scottish Gins in the Tasting room. You will be guided to nose and taste different flavours, with garnishes from the herb garden. Dog(s) are welcome for guests staying in the Annex cottage, either super-king or Twin beds.
If time allows, take the unforgettable day trip to the beautiful Orkney Islands, leaves daily from John O’Groats, just forty minutes by car, early breakfast can be arranged.
A perfect location to explore and rest awhile with ample private car parking. Bikers, cyclists and walkers are all most welcome. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our Highland home.
