The rich soil and gentle climate here, along with the skills of generations of farmers, yield wonderful local produce. The freshest of fruit and vegetables and top quality meat give you great choices if you're self-catering, with local restaurants and cafes also making excellent use of the produce. And there is some excellent home baking to be had - another long tradition! Mulchaich Distillery, now ruined, was feted by Robert Burns but the award-winning Glen Ord Distillery in Muir of Ord carries on producing. With two excellent breweries and juice from local apples, there's something for every taste.
