Tucked away in an area of outstanding beauty and wild Scottish landscapes, a choice of unforgettable accommodation options await you at Natural Retreats John O’Groats. Even though we offer luxury, self-catering stays and are not a hotel, we strive to provide the same high standards to our guests, offering 24/7 accessibility to our friendly and professional Retreat Managers and the services of our dedicated Concierge Team. The ‘Inn’ building with our colourful tofts providing self-catering accommodation, was once the original John O’Groats Hotel and still stands proudly against the backdrop of the spectacular Pentland firth.
Our 3 bedroom self-catering lodges offer unrivalled luxury and breath-taking sea views out to the Orkneys with extensive glass wall frontage, designed to bring the natural light and seascape directly into your holiday home. The lodges are also pet-friendly, with four-legged friends welcome to enjoy the wild landscape and cosy log-burning fires!
The Inn at John O’Groats, which has been lovingly restored as part of a multi-million pound regeneration of this stunning area, boasts bespoke apartments, with a choice of 1, 2 or 4 bedrooms. Each offers their own individual charm and all the high quality luxuries of a hotel, but with the freedom of a self-catering stay.
John O’Groats is blessed with some of the finest wildlife in the UK, from Orca and minke whales to seals and dolphins. Just a stone’s through away from the largest RSPB reserve in Britain, the region is also rich in birdlife, including guillemot, kittiwakes and most famously, puffins. The area boasts so much to enjoy, from superb walking to day trips to the Orkneys and much more. Also at the Retreat you’ll find our co-operative Storehouse offering local produce and provisions as well as a friendly café.
