We hope you enjoyed your stop in Inverness.

Head west out of Inverness through the charming villages of Beauly, Muir of Ord and Strathpeffer. If you have children with you, they may enjoy the Highland Museum of Childhood. Otherwise a visit to Glen Ord Distillery is a must; a delight to both the eye and the palate! Enjoy a tour of one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland!

For lunch, drop into Coul House hotel, they include a range of dining options from contemporary Scottish cuisine to some of the more traditional favourites.

A five minute drive and you will arrive at Rogie Fallsa superb short walk to stretch the legs and fun for all the family. From August to September you can often see Salmon leaping upstream!

Continue West, through Achnasheen and towards Lochcarron. Before you reach Lochcarron, take a short detour (only three miles) through Strathcarron and visit Attadale Gardens – one of Scotland's “hidden gems”. Back through Lochcarron, head towards Applecross, and in about 30 minutes time, you will arrive at the spectacular Bealach na Ba, (Gaelic for Pass of the Cattle). The historic pass through the mountains towards Applecross boasts the greatest ascent of any road climb in the UK.
(Travelling by motorhome? If it is more than a standard VW T5 conversion (ie about 16 – 18 ft in length), please do not go over the pass, take the alternative route - A 896)

From Applecross, continue along the North Coast 500 on the coastal road, and enjoy the amazing views to your left over to Skye and the Hebrides. Situated on the stunning Applecross peninsula, drop in and browse the selection of smoked fish and cheeses at Applecross Smokehouse - 'straight from their boat to your basket'- why not order some for your return home while you reminisce over your amazing NC500 travels!
