Chanonry Point

The most popular place to see dolphins is probably a good indicator of the best place to see them! That’s Chanonry Point between Fortrose and Rosemarkie on the Black Isle. This narrow peninsula is an ideal location with views across the Moray Firth to Fort George and with lots of fellow dolphin watchers you are unlikely to miss any sightings. Dolphin activity here is influenced by tidal conditions.

Cromarty - Nigg Ferry (June - September)

This ferry crosses the entrance to the Cromarty Firth between the North and South Sutors. It was part of the "King's Route", a medieval pilgrimage route, and still offers travellers the option of crossing the Cromarty Firth by water. It opens up great trips for cyclists and is a popular route option for "end-to-enders" doing Land's End to John O-Groats. It only carries three cars so do allow plenty time in the busy season.
