North Coast 500 Terms & Conditions
North Coast 500 Limited is a registered company in Scotland with company no. SC504749 and with its registered office at The Green House, Beechwood Park North, Inverness, IV2 3BL.
1.0 Membership Contract
When you submit your application online, or you email us your application, you are making an offer to subscribe to the North Coast 500 Members’ Club which, if accepted by us, will result in a legally binding contract in accordance with these terms and conditions.
At the point of renewal of your membership, your renewal payment is confirmation of the continued acceptance of these terms and conditions. You may not transfer any of your rights and obligations under these terms and conditions to another person.
For online applications, you will receive an email from us to confirm whether your application has been accepted. Please note that an acknowledgement that your application has been received or is being processed does not yet mean that the contract between us is formed. A legally binding contract is formed on the date we send your welcome pack (or on such other earlier date as we confirm this to you in writing). Welcome packs will be sent out after your payment has been received in cleared funds and within 10 working days of such receipt.
As a member of the North Coast 500 Members Club, you will receive;
- A Membership Pack which includes; an official map, window sticker and members ID card;
- Access to the exclusive Members Only area of the North Coast 500 website; Access to the Members Only Forums of the North Coast 500 website where you can chat to other members and discuss ideas and experiences;
- Special offers relating to businesses across the route;
- Monthly competitions to win free experiences across the route;
- Monthly newsletters; and
- Invitations to any members-only networking events.
All members of the North Coast 500 Members Club can purchase an upgrade to the Explorer Pack (£30) and non-members can purchase the full package for £45. The pack includes;
- An Explorer ID Card, which entitles members to discounts on participating businesses across the route;
- Highlife Highland 7 Day Pass (see section 1.1.3 for terms)
- A Personalised Route Itinerary; and
- Route Support.
- Explorer ID Card
The Explorer ID Card entitles members to discounts on participating businesses across the route. For a full list of businesses please email email@example.com
or you can find this information available in the Members’ area of the North Coast 500 website. Discounts are only available upon production of the card and participating businesses reserve the right to refuse discount if a customer is unable to produce their card. Discount cards are for the personal use of the members only and are non-transferrable. Whilst we endeavour to provide up to date details of scheme participants and offers, please note the these are subject to change at short notice. Please enquire about scheme participation and benefits before using your card. Please ask upon arrival. One discount card per membership pack.
1.1.2 Lost or Stolen Cards
If you have lost your membership card or it has been stolen or damaged, you can order a replacement by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Replacement cards are subject to a £6.50 fee which will be invoiced to members email address.
1.1.3 Highlife Highland 7 Day Pass
Terms and Conditions:
1.1.4 Personalised Itinerary
- This offer is subject to availability.
- Only one 7 day pass per Explorer member and are non-replaceable.
- The pass is valid for 7 days from the date of issue.
- Valid for members only
- Pass is not transferable, not exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash or merchandise.
- Some classes and sessions are subject to availability.
- Leisure Centre rules must be adhered to at all times.
- Only one 7 day pass per person can be used in a 12 month period.
- Highlife Highland reserves the right to extend or withdraw the offer at any time without prior notice.
- Your 7 Day Pass voucher should be exchanged for a temporary membership card at a Highlife Highland Centre only, it is not for resale and can only be redeemed by the Explorer Member.
- You will be required to complete a Highlife Highland application form.
- Participants must be 16 or over.
- An induction and medical health questionnaire form is required for gym entry.
- The promoter is Highlife Highland, The Old Library, Tulloch Street, Dingwall, IV15 9JZ.
'Personalised Itinerary' is one benefit which the holder of an Explorer ID Card receives. Explorer ID Card holders should request a Personalised Itinerary form from email@example.com or download it where available from the members area of the website. Members should fill in the relevant application form in as much detail as possible and submit the form to firstname.lastname@example.org. The membership team will then compile a recommended itinerary based on the answers provided in the form. Explorer ID card holders are entitled to one itinerary only.
1.1.5 Route Support
'Route Support' refers to another benefit which the holder of an Explorer ID Card receives in the form of assistance from the NC500 Membership Team during working hours (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm, unless otherwise specified) either by telephone (01955 609806) or email (email@example.com). Support may include; directions or other recommendations and help at our discretion. For the avoidance of doubt we are not able to provide roadside cover or assistance, or any type of emergency services.
The North Coast 500 Members Club is £15 to join and membership is valid for one year from date of payment.
The cost of membership of the Explorer Club is £30 for Members of the North Coast Members Club or £45 for non-members. Through submitting a payment [via Paypal] for this membership, you agree to pay £45 per year, [subject to auto-renewal].
If you have purchased a North Coast 500 Members Club membership and Explorer ID Card upgrade and would like to cancel both, please ensure that both subscriptions are cancelled.
1.2.1 Cooling Off Period
We offer a fourteen day cooling off period for new members, effective from the day your application is accepted. This will allow you to cancel your subscription without any penalty. If you wish to cancel your new subscription, you must notify us within these ten working days by email as described below. If a welcome pack has been issued this must be returned to us. The cost of postage and packing applicable to the return of the welcome pack will be at your own expense.
Membership subscriptions are not refundable or exchangeable. You can cancel your membership at any time by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org stating 'CANCEL'. You will then be removed from our mailing list and will not receive further information from NC 500.
1.3 Membership Packs
Membership packs will be posted via 2nd Class, Royal Mail delivery and will be sent within 10 working days from date of payment. Working days are Monday -Friday, unless otherwise stated. North Coast 500 Ltd. does not accept any responsibility for any loss, damaged and/or stolen membership packs once in the physical possession of the member. If your pack is not delivered one month from the date of purchase please email email@example.com to inform us so that we may issue a replacement membership pack. Where the original pack was received by the member a replacement pack will incur a £6.50 charge.
1.4 Our liability
Nothing in these terms and conditions limits or excludes our liability (1) for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (2) for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation (3) for breach of the terms implied by the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (4) in relation to your rights as a consumer in a way which cannot be so lawfully limited or excluded or (5) for any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms and conditions or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or negligence, or if it was contemplated by you and us at the time we agree to these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Scotland. We both agree that the courts of Scotland shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
